How to Create Donor Acknowledgment Letters

Generate thank-you letters and acknowledgments for donors.

Finding Acknowledgment Reports

  1. Go to Report Center in the top navigation bar (top right)
  2. Search for acknowledgment or thank you letter reports
  3. Or browse the Fundraising report category

Running the Report

  1. Select the acknowledgment letter report
  2. Enter parameters:
    • Date range for donations
    • Donation types to include
    • Minimum amount (optional)
  3. Click Generate

Letter Contents

Acknowledgment letters typically include:

  • Donor name and address
  • Donation date and amount
  • Tax-deductibility statement
  • Your organization EIN
  • Thank you message

Exporting and Printing

  • Export to Word to customize before printing
  • Export to PDF for electronic delivery
  • Print directly for mail

Year-End Statements

For annual giving summaries, use the Year End Donation Summary report to provide donors with their total giving for tax purposes.
