How to Use the Membership Status Log

The Membership Status Log provides a complete history of status changes for a member over time.

Accessing the Status Log

  1. Open the member record
  2. Click Membership Status Log in the workspace navigation

What the Log Tracks

Each entry records:

  • Date of Change: When the status changed
  • Previous Status: What status they had before
  • New Status: What status they changed to
  • Changed By: Which user made the change
  • Reason/Notes: Why the change was made

Common Status Transitions

  • In Process → Active (new member approved)
  • Active → Inactive (membership lapsed)
  • Inactive → Active (member renewed/rejoined)
  • Active → Suspended (temporary hold)
  • Suspended → Active (suspension ended)

Why the Log Matters

  • Historical Record: See the complete membership journey
  • Audit Trail: Know who made changes and when
  • Dispute Resolution: Verify past membership status
  • Tenure Calculation: Understand total time as active member

Adding Manual Log Entries

While most entries are created automatically when status changes, you can add manual entries to document significant events or corrections.
